FullTilt! 2 ReadMe! File 1. Introduction 2. System Requirements 3. How To Uninstall 4. Gamma Correction or I Can't See Quake at All! 5. Some More Ideas to Improve Performance 6. The Wicked Pause Key ------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. Introduction This is the readme! file for Maxis South's FullTilt! 2. We have included this file in our game to make sure that our customers have the most up to date information available. In the course of developing any computer game, information changes hands many times, and often at the very last minute. Sometimes, these last minute changes cannot get written into the formal manuals, such as the User's Manual. For FullTilt! 2, we wanted to add a few things and make a few corrections so that you, our customer, can enjoy your pinball tables as much as we do. 2. System Requirements The WIN95 minimum system requirements should read as follows: Requires Windows 95 486DX66 or above 16MB of RAM; 4MB of hard drive space 2x CD-ROM drive 256 color SVGA monitor which supports 640 x 480 mode Supports most Windows compatible sound cards The Windows 3.1 minimum system requirements should read as follows: Requires Windows 3.1 or Windows 3.11 486DX66 or above 8MB RAM; 4 MB of hard drive space 2x CD-ROM Drive 256 color SVGA monitor which supports 640 x 480 mode Supports most Windows compatible sound cards 3. How To Uninstall To uninstall FullTilt! 2 for WIN 95: a. From the START menu, or from Explorer, select the Control Panel folder. b. From Control Panel, select Add/Remove Programs. c. Highlight the FullTilt! 2 program, and then click on Add/Remove. This will fully remove FullTilt!2 from your hard drive and from your registry. 4. Gamma Correction or I Can't See Quake at All! While we were developing FullTilt! 2, we noticed that different monitors will display your tables at varying levels of brightness. So we added in varying levels of Gamma Correction in hopes that you will find a brightness level that best suits your tastes. But we've hidden it in the FullTilt! 2 Options menu under "Brightness". So if your table is to dark to see or too washed out to enjoy, this menu is what you are looking for. 5. Some More Ideas to Improve Performance The User's Manual includes several tips to improve performance. We found a few more. a. The WIN95 version of FullTilt! 2 includes a higher and lower sound quality option. Choosing the lower sound quality will improve your performance. b. Deselecting Ball Spin and Ball Reflection in the Option menu, while definitely lowering the cool factor of your game, will speed it up. c. Playing the game in a lower table resolution will drastically improve your performance. d. We have included a selection under the Options menu called Floating Text. This allows you to decide how much text you receive from the table and the less text you have printing to the screen the faster your game will run. However, the text really adds a lot of atmosphere to the tables. Keep 'em around if you can. e. Finally, and we are really reaching here, you may want to consider trying to find an updated driver for your CD-ROM drive. We have found that in several cases, newer drivers will load the audio tracks faster. 6. The Wicked Pause Key Unfortunately, we discovered during testing that you cannot use the "pause" key to control any of the table's functions. It is way up out of the way, and not close to very much else anyway, but we tried. Have fun with the tables. We had a lot of fun making them. D kytyn Luna Pokey
